Kandinsky's Critters
Wassily Kandinsky (1866-1944) was a pioneer of abstract expressionism, but what made him especially unique was how he linked colors to emotions. He believed colors could affect the soul similarly to music, and he wanted to find a way to express deep, poetic feelings through abstract art.
This bundle includes three Kandinsky-inspired projects for three age/ability levels. Enjoy as a family or invite some friends over for a fun get-together!
Plus, a rhyming mini-art history book! Give your kids a quick overview of Kandinsky and some of his major works. Simply print, fold according to the easy, attached instructions, and enjoy.
The experience is scree-free and hands-on with in-depth printable art lessons. This lesson is also available as a part of Artisan Monthly. Digital downloads do not come with supplies. You purchase supplies with our supply links, or purchase an Artisan Kit!
Students will learn to:
Draw simple fish shapes (preK-K); more complex fish shapes (1st-4th) and various sea creatures (5th-8th). Outline your drawings with black marker.
Paint loosely in a watercolor overlay style, using colors that harmonize (blues, greens, yellows) OR (reds, oranges, yellows)
Supplies are simple. Mixed Media Paper or Card Stock, Watercolor set, Black Marker and Brushes. (These link to our fav items, but you can substitute crayons, colored pencils, regular pencil and any paper you have on hand).
